SEMS – 28 Sept 2015
The new SEMS programme got off to a great start with two helpful sessions on Systematic Theology from Mark Johnston.
Two quotes from Mark’s helpful and even provocative teaching were> “We are all theologians but are we good theologians or bad theologians?” “Were Proc Trust right to say “we must preach the text but not our theology?”” Mark helpfully traced the decline in the attention given to Systematics and Creeds in the church and helped us to see from Scripture why it matters. In the second session he looked at how preaching systematic theology works in practice. Many commented afterwards that the challenge was timely and important for us to consider – so why not have a listen and join in the conversation? The NEXT SEMS is on 30 November with Neil Hudson under the heading “Equipping the church to be 24/7 disciples” – make sure it is your diary now! In Jesus David Sprouse Chair, Training Events Team
