Making the most of music in the life of the local church
Wednesday 10 July 2013, at Lindfield URC.
Music in church life can sometimes seem like a blessing and a curse in equal measure! It can be a wonderful tool for gospel work, or it can spread confusion and cause division. How can church leaders make the most of music?
This training day for church leaders began by exploring the place and power of music in church life from Ephesians 5 and then examined the crucial relationship between leaders and musicians, looking at how they can work in effective partnership to lead music in the congregation.
There was also opportunity to attend two seminars from a choice of five.
Speakers:
Andy Fenton, Senior Minister of Christ Church Earlsfield, and also heads up the national network Music Ministry UK.
Richard Simpkin, Music Co-ordinator at St Helen's Bishopsgate, and also trains musicians from a range of different churches.
Chris Edwards, Director of Music at All Saints' Church Crowborough.
Nick McQuaker, SGP's Director of Training and Development.
